Operating procedures for user assistance
To ensure better management of issues related to traffic flow in case of disruptions, the RAV implements initiatives aimed at ensuring greater safety and fluidity of circulation on the section of responsibility, as well as the operational procedures adopted for the management of any critical and emergency situations, in accordance with Article 14 of the Highway Code.
RAV, directly and also through the Traffic Center of Autostrade per l’Italia, by virtue of agreements with the Managers and Concessionaires that manage contiguous road and highway sections (R.T.I. Global Service S.G.C. FiPiLi, CDT, ANAS and ASPI), ensures real-time information exchange and the correct management, also jointly, of issues related to particular events or emergency situations in order to implement the best and most effective operational countermeasures. In particular, in the event of traffic disruption, specific operational procedures are adopted, including:
The constant updating of all information channels and the coordination with other entities and managers of other transport infrastructures that could be affected by it.
- All PMV provide customers with information regarding the travel conditions of the relevant motorway section in a clear, complete, timely, and transparent manner;
- constant updates through the national radio news of Isoradio 103.3, RTL 102.5 FM, RTL 102.5;
- at scheduled intervals, radio connections with Autostrade per l'Italia staff are planned on the RTL 102.5 channel based on updates affecting different quadrants of the motorway network, indicating travel times on sections usually affected by higher traffic flows and advice on possible alternative routes in case of congested situations, in agreement with the relevant territorial authorities;
- 180 dedicated phone lines available at the Movyon Traffic Call Center, through the number 803.111, with the capacity to answer over 50,000 calls daily. Additionally, an extra service has been activated for traffic information at the dedicated number of the company.
In case of blocked traffic, the distribution, timely and adequate to the duration of the blockage and the circumstances of essential goods:
- A service is ensured, through the Traffic Operators, to provide constant and qualified assistance to users in case of need;
- The effectiveness of assistance activities for travelers will be guaranteed by the constant presence of personnel, vehicles, and technologies along our routes in order to provide the necessary support in case of difficulties.
The closure of access in order to avoid the worsening of the ongoing event:
In circumstances that could generate disturbances to highway traffic and/or dangerous situations, related to events such as accidents, broken down vehicles, vehicles on fire, fires, as well as extraordinary events (e.g. flooding, landslides, mudslides, etc.), it may be necessary to partially close the roadway, reducing the lanes available for traffic.
The management of the stations in order to facilitate the exit of users:
The only station falling within the area of responsibility is the Aosta Ovest station, which is equipped with colored signage near the toll booths for the respective payment methods. It guarantees the opening of all available lanes (automatic, Telepass, ticket machines, and manual) and their supervision with adequate staff to handle the expected traffic levels.
Behavioral tips and warnings
Users are advised to comply with the regulations set forth by the New Highway Code (D.Lgs 285/1992 and subsequent amendments), which are inspired by the principle of road safety, the provisions issued in application of these regulations, and the requirements made known through road signage and variable message signs present along the route.
These regulations will also apply to traffic and the use of services within service areas, where users must also adhere to the indications and prescriptions made known by the service providers.
Travelers are reminded to respect speed limits, maintain safe distances, fasten seat belts while securing children in appropriate car seats, and refrain from using mobile phones while driving.
